Kim has really put together a great line of pointers. They have a strong bird drive, natural point and backing ability and are always wanting to please. I have hunted with this line with guns, horseback and with the falcon. Some people think that a field trial dog can’t be used for falconry, but their will to work with you makes it an easy transition. I have hunted them on sharptail, sage grouse, Huns, chukar, pheasants and forest grouse. They have done great on all of them!

Kim as been a tremendous help to my ability to have enjoyable and successful hunting. I have very high demands when it comes to hunting and dog performance, so when I found myself needing to sell a dog that ultimately did not meet my requirements, I was without a dog and needed to get back in the game quickly. I was referred to Kim whom sold me a finished dog from her lines. Needless to say, this dog met and exceeded all my expectations, so when the time came for needing another dog, I obtained a started dog from Kim and had her put the finishing touches on , so when hunting season came, I hit the ground running…limiting on Chukar my our first 4 days in the field! Kim’s competitive track record speaks for itself, and I’d be hesitant to buy a dog from any other lines, but I’m most pleased by the amount of time and attention given to each and every dog; I simply don’t think you get that elsewhere (I’ve had the pleasure of spending several training days in the field with Kim over the years). Oh yeah…having my dog trained 5 species of wild birds didn’t hurt either…I feel like my dogs can step into any environment and dominate!

Kim Sampson (West Mountain Kennels) is a hard worker, is honest, is passionate about birddogs and wild birds, and all in all, is a true class act. Kim helped my birddogs achieve a whole new level of training and turned them into polished, stylish, and broke dogs. Equally, if not more importantly, was Kim’s help in training me as a new owner of a pointing breed. Thanks to Kim and to our now trained birddogs, I have had the pleasure of bringing up my children hunting chukar, huns, quail, and nearly all of the western grouse species and feel indebted to Kim for helping us to be able to do so as a family. Kim was always up-front and honest in updating me on my dogs and their progress and worked them extensively on wild birds, which was highly important to me, and an important reason for me choosing her (in my opinion wild birds are a true test of any dog’s training and ability). Kim even ran my dogs in competitive horseback trials, something that I greatly appreciated and most importantly something that told me she stood by her product and her training. Kim was always responsive and in contact with me regarding the progression of my dogs, took good care of them, and helped me feel that she truly understands the importance of birddogs to their owners. I highly recommend Kim Sampson as a trainer, as a trailer, and as an advocate for your birddog. In fact, the next time I have a training need or get ready for another dog, Kim will be the first call I make!
